Case against religious sect leader begins tomorrow...
Gülen faces 10 years imprisonment on terrorism charges. In a statement released by DGM public prosecutor Nuh Mete Yüksel, Gülen and his Nur religious sect are accused of working to impose strict religious law in secular Turkey. Gülen is also allegedly training young people to infiltrate state institutions through schools he runs.
ATTEMPTS TO INFILTRATE MILITARY
The statement goes on to claim that Gülen has high-ranking state officials supporting him, and has been trying to infiltrate the military. The statement said that Gülens aim was to shift Turkey gradually to a system based on religious law.
